That’s according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin. He said deputies were dispatched to a residence in Oronoco on the report of a domestic assault.

The incident was reported around 6 p.m. Sunday. Upon arrival deputies found two residents outside of their home. Deputies also saw the residence’s front door had been kicked in.

The individuals outside of the home, described as an adult male and a 17-year-old boy, were suffering from minor knife cuts, Parkin said. The 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Parkin said the report indicates a 14-year-old girl, who lives at the home, had become upset over a phone call. She then took a butter knife, which resulted in a minor cut to the face of the 17-year-old boy and a small cut on the man’s arm, the report says.

The girl is also alleged to have kicked in the door after she was locked out of the home during the incident. Parkin said the man and teen were evaluated and cleared at the scene by a Mayo Clinic Ambulance crew.

The teen girl was booked into a juvenile detention center in the Twin Cities on suspicion of second-degree assault and domestic assault.
