144,000 Ladybugs Being Released Inside A Popular Minnesota Business

While most of us are trying to "eliminate" the bugs that are showing up around our windows and walls, one company in Minnesota is letting 144,000 bugs go inside their building.

FUN FACT: There are 30,000 live plants and trees inside the Mall of America.  

Next time you are at the Mall of America, look really closely at those 30,000 plants because little creatures are crawling around in that environment.  Yes, as you are drinking your Caribou Coffee and sitting next to a large tree at Nickelodeon Universe, scrolling through your phone and posting pictures to Facebook, little tiny ladybugs are right next to you.

Every year, ladybugs are released throughout the plant life at the Mall of America.  Last year, 100,000 bugs were placed gently with the help of Girl Scouts and other friends.  This year is special though because you are invited to help out on Monday, April 22nd for this year's special release day with 144,000 ladybugs.

Why are ladybugs released at the Mall of America in Minnesota?

The reason why ladybugs are the bug of choice is because they are like a natural pesticide and helps protect plants from aphids and other nasty pests.
