Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The most recent homicide victim in Minneapolis was a 15-year-old girl.

A statement issued today by the Minneapolis Police Department says officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to reports of a shooting in a mainly residential area about a third of a mile east of Lake of the Isles. Upon arrival, the officers found a juvenile girl with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

The officers and emergency medical services performed life-saving efforts, but the young victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and nature of the teenager's death.

The news release says the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident are unknown at this time. No arrests have been reported.
