Charges filed in Olmsted County Court Monday indicate the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an assault last Thursday. The process server told the deputy he had captured the incident on video.

The criminal complaint says the victim reported going to the Chatfield home of 59-year-old Jeffery Littrell. He said Littrell came to the door armed with a long gun and pointed it at him.

The victim said Littrell then threatened to kill him if he did not leave and if he came back to attempt to serve the papers. The victim said Littrell continued to yell at him as he retreated to his vehicle and that he believed Littrell would harm him based on the firearm and Littrell’s actions.

Court documents say deputies attempted to arrange a meeting with Littrell but Littrell refused. He did acknowledge an altercation with the process server but said he was holding a piece of wood instead of a firearm and that he did not threaten the delivery man.

The charges say the video corroborated the victim’s account of the incident. Prosecutors charged Littrell with felony second-degree assault, felony terroristic threats and misdemeanor assault. Littrell is due to make his first appearance in Olmsted County Court on May 10.
