Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The suspect in a shooting that injured a woman at a downtown Rochester apartment building has been identified.

The shooting occurred on Friday morning at the Park Towers Apartments at 22 North Broadway.

Police say the adult female victim of the shooting suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A Rochester Police Spokesperson has confirmed the suspected shooter to be Robin Helmueller. A preliminary report released by police indicated that Helmueller had been detained shortly after the shooting

Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records say Helmueller was booked into the jail shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday. He was jailed on suspicion of felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and felony reckless discharge of a firearm endangering safety.

Helmueller’s first appearance in Olmsted County Court had not been scheduled as of Sunday morning. Officers did report recovering a handgun from the scene of the shooting, police say.
