Rochester Fire Department Gets New Chief
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A changing of the guard at the Rochester Fire Dept.
Chief Greg Martin officially retires Saturday. He became chief in April 2008.
The new chief is no stranger to Rochester. Eric Kerska started his career as a Rochester firefighter in 1994 and rose to the rank of battalion chief. Kerska was selected to be the next chief earlier this month.
During Martin’s tenure as chief, the department added an additional engine company at the downtown station, built a new Fire Station 2 and added a new regional fire training facility.
