Rochester Man Gets 3 Years for Attempted Beer Theft
A Rochester man has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for a robbery case - involving a case of beer.
The incident happened last October at the El Carambas Restaurant in southeast Rochester. Police say 40 year old William Schick entered through a back door and grabbed a case of beer. An employee spotted him and followed him outside. When the employee confronted the would-be thief in the parking lot, Schick pulled out a knife. The employee backed off and Schick dropped the beer and fled. He was apprehended a short while later. He recently pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge. A more serious robbery charge was dropped as part of a plea deal.
