Sauk Rapids, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is looking for witnesses to an especially horrific fatal traffic crash.

It was reported around 3:30 Friday morning in central Minnesota. The State Patrol says an SUV was traveling east on Highway 10 in Benton County near Sauk Rapids when it left the road, went into the ditch, and rolled. The SUV came to rest on its roof and one of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle.

The State Patrol says that person was then struck by a GMC Sierra pickup and died at the scene. The crash report on the incident says the male driver of the SUV was transported to the St. Cloud hospital with serious injuries and that alcohol involvement is suspected in that person.

The State Patrol says alcohol use is not suspected for the 20-year-old man driving the pickup, who was not injured. Investigators say they would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the fatal incident, anyone who thinks they may have struck the person on the road, or anyone with useful information.

The name of the 27-year-old man killed in the crash and the names of the two drivers have not been released.
