UPDATE – Deceased Rochester Man Had Been Sent to Prison for Attempted Murder
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Court records show a man identified by Rochester Police as the victim of a suspicious death earlier this week was sent to prison for an attempted murder conviction in 2011.
Police say the body of 38-year-old Robert Dumond was discovered Wednesday afternoon amid some piles of gravel and rocks in a vacant industrial lot in the 800 block of Civic Center Drive. Officials say he had been dead a number of days, but the exact time of his death is unknown. Police also say the cause of his death is still under investigation and have indicated the circumstances of his death are suspicious.
Dumond was given an over 6 year prison sentence in June 2011 after he entered a guilty plea to a charge of first-degree attempted murder for trying to smother his girlfriend with a pillow in January 2010.
