Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has entered into a plea agreement in a child pornography case.

Court records show 24-year-old Tyler Jones admitted to four counts of possession of Pornographic Work-Computer Disk/Electronic/Magnetic/Optical Image. In exchange, the Olmsted County Attorney's Office agreed to dismiss six other charges involving the possession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint against Jones, the charges stemmed from an investigation that began in February 2020 when the Rochester Police Department received five "Cybertips" from Google that suspected child pornography had been uploaded to a Google Drive account associated with an email address that was linked to an IP address in Rochester. A search warrant was executed and investigators seized three cell phones and a gaming system. The court document says the suspected child pornography was found on the SIM card of one of the phones and included multiple images and videos depicting sex abuse involving children who appeared to be as young as 2-years-old.

Jones is scheduled to be sentenced in July. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and a psychological evaluation. The plea agreement calls for probation with no jail time and a stay of imposition for any potential prison term.
