ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota boys state high school hockey tournament has set an all-time attendance record.

Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota State High School League announced that the two-class tournament, which concluded on Saturday night, drew a total of 135,618 fans. That figure included consolation games at Mariucci Arena. The previous overall attendance record was 129,643, set in 2008.

For the two Class 2A semifinals on Friday night, the MSHSL reported attendance of 21,609. That was a single-session record. The Saturday evening session in Class 2A, including the third place and championship games, drew 19,495 people.

Also, Elk River's Jake Jaremko won the Mr. Hockey Award on Sunday afternoon, for the state's top player. Burnsville's Dyllan Lubbesmeyer received the Frank Brimsek Award, for the best goaltender in the state.
