About Team in Training and Kristina Hesby
In 1995, Kristina Hesby’s father, Dr. Ralph Wright-Peterson, passed away after an eight month battle with Leukemia. Dr. Ralph Wright-Peterson was the Mayo High School Principal from its opening until his retirement in 1986, prior to that he was the principal at John Marshall. He was active in the Rochester community by volunteering for the Community Food Response, actively participating in the Rochester Rotary Club, sponsoring Japanese exchange students, and sharing his calming smile with those around him. Kristina hopes to carry on his giving sprit and love of his community.
For the past 9 years, Kristina has raised money in his memory for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Team in Training (www.teamintraining.org) trains participants for endurance events all over the country in return for fundraising efforts to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In June 2014, Kristina will complete her fourth event with Team in Training by completing the Minneapolis Half Marathon. The goal of this event is to bring in at least $2500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org).
