ROSEVILLE, Minn. (AP) — One man is dead and a man who tried to save him is hospitalized after a fire at a Roseville apartment building.

KSTP-TV reports a neighbor, the building caretaker, and police and firefighters all tried to rescue the man but they could not due to smoke and flames.

The fire at Rose Mall Apartments happened Saturday evening.

Crews arrived to find the caretaker with minor burns and suffering from smoke inhalation after trying to rescue the man, who was trapped on the third floor.

The caretaker remained hospitalized Sunday.

Two Roseville firefighters also suffered minor burns.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
