HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) — A driver who caused a fatal crash in Lakeville, then disrobed and hid in a stranger's town house, has pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide and burglary.

Forty-year-old Eric Kasprzyk of Rosemount entered his plea Wednesday in Dakota County. Sentencing is set for Aug. 9.

The complaint says Kasprzyk ran a red light while speeding the wrong way down a Lakeville street on April 1 and broadsided another vehicle, killing 45-year-old Osah Phetsarath.

Authorities say Kasprzyk shed his clothes as he ran from the crash, entered a town home about two blocks away and locked himself in a closet. Police were called and took Kasprzyk into custody.

The judge ordered a presentence investigation. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Kasprzyk remains in jail with bail set at $250,000.
