Undated (KROC-AM News)- Tuesday is Election Day across the U.S. and in Minnesota.

The balance of power in the Minnesota Senate will be decided by special elections occurring in two Senate districts. 

Voters in the east Twin Cities Metro are voting on a replacement for Sen. Nicole Mitchell who resigned after being convicted of felony burglary earlier this year.

In central Minnesota, voters are heading to the polls to vote on replacing Sen. Bruce Anderson, who passed away earlier this year. The DFL currently holds a one-seat majority in the Minnesota Senate. 

The Mayor seats in Minneapolis and St. Paul are also on ballots on Tuesday.

No elections are scheduled in Rochester, however voters in seven southeast Minnesota school districts will head to the polls to decide ballot referendums. 

Voters in 7 Southeast Minnesota School Districts Set to Head to the Polls Tuesday

Byron School District voters will vote on two items. One is a $2.5 million capital improvement referendum and an operating levy that would increase the district’s per-pupil spending by $700 per student. 

In Austin voters are deciding on two building bond items. One is $54.7 million and the other is $12 million. 

Triton School District voters will be asked to weigh in on a $6.5 million capital improvement levy

Cannon Falls, Goodhue, Fillmore Central and Owatonna school districts are all asking for voters to decide on whether or not to increase per pupil funding.

The increases per students are $950, $800, $876 and $700 respectively. The polls close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. 

Correction: A previous version of this story said the Byron funding measure was to increase per pupil funding by $200.
