Remember the Solar Eclipse in 2017?

I remember when the solar eclipse happened in 2017. That was wild! I was working in a big office building at the time and my co-workers and I went out (with eye protection, of course) to check it out. As we went down to the parking lot almost the rest of the building was outside too! We all were just so amazed by the eclipse happening right before our eyes.

Well tomorrow morning, November 8th, we'll be able to see the opposite of the solar eclipse that we all gathered around to see.

If you're up early enough make sure to look to the skies because we'll be able to see a total lunar eclipse! MPR writes that this happens "when the sun, Earth and moon align ... [and] the moon falls completely in the Earth's shadow." This causes the moon to turn a deep red-ish, orange-ish color, also known as a 'blood moon'.

Last Chance to See a Total Lunar Eclipse for 3 Years!

NASA says that this is the last chance to see a total lunar eclipse for 3 years. We'll be able to see some partial ones but the next total lunar eclipse will be on March 14th, 2025.

When You Can See the Total Lunar Eclipse

If you're interested in checking out the eclipse tomorrow, it'll begin around 2:02 AM, a partial eclipse begins at 3:09 AM, then the total eclipse will happen around 4:17 AM. If you're not up at 4:17, don't worry, the total eclipse will last about an hour and a half.

I'll be awake when the total eclipse happens, so I'll be excited to see it! Of course, the absolute best spot for viewing is as far as you can get from light pollution.
