Rochester Woman Wins $25,000 For Her Brilliant Invention
About a year ago, I wrote a blog about a product that every new mom should have - the Busy Baby Mat. Moms know the struggle that is the "toddler toss." Rochester's own, Beth Fynbo, a new mom and Veteran, came up with a solution. Beth said after going out with some friends, she realized how bad she needed something to keep her little one busy at restaurants, but wasn't able to find anything online. So she created it!
The Busy Baby Mat keeps babies and toddlers "entertained and germ-free while shopping, eating at restaurants or even playing at home." The mat stays put wherever you put it and keeps all the toys in place as well. Recently, she scored a huge prize for this awesome idea.
She took Busy Baby Mat to the annual MN Cup Competition, a community-led, public-private partnership that helps Minnesota entrepreneurs, and came home with $25,000. The money will be used to continue helping moms everywhere.
You can check out the Busy Baby Mat in person at US Bank Stadium. Beth tells me she will have a booth for the Minneapolis Holiday Boutique November 8th-10th.
