The winter storm that hit southeast Minnesota Friday produced snow that was on the lighter side of forecasts, although it was enough to break a 75-year-old record in Rochester.
A snow burst across a large part of southeast Minnesota Monday morning led to rapidly deteriorating driving conditions, resulting in numerous traffic accidents, spinouts, jackknifed trucks, and other mishaps.
Schools are closed and roads are in rough shape as a result of Wednesday’s snowstorm. Rochester Public Schools joined other districts in the area to call off classes Thursday.
