The Panthers' win averted one of the most epic collapses in sports history.

At the heart of that winning effort were three players: Tkachuk, Verhaeghe and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, all of whom made the difference in Game 3.

The Vegas Golden Knights scored three straight goals to win 5-2, and then another four straight to open Game 2, en route to a 7-2 victory over the Florida Panthers.

With their 4-3 victory Wednesday night, the Panthers completed a four-game sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference finals.
