Two Minneapolis Bars Just Honored as Some of the Best in the World
There's just something about a cozy cocktail lounge. The atmosphere is always so cool, the bartenders are talented and ready to serve, plus you're always going to be with good company if you go to one of these places.
They all have their own unique taste too, in drinks and design. We've got plenty of awesome spots around Minnesota, but there are two in Minneapolis that we need to visit if you haven't been.

Minneapolis Bars Named Among Best Cocktail Bars in the World
These two cocktail bars have been honored by what's called Tales of the Cocktail Foundation.
Every year since 2007, they've done the Spirited Awards, where they reveal their list of the best cocktail bars in the entire world. They say on their website that this is "one of the world’s most prestigious honors in the drinks industry".
The Spirited Awards shine a spotlight on the extraordinary talent and innovation driving the cocktail industry forward.
There will be a big celebration and ceremony in New Orleans in July to honor all of the cocktail bars.

Two of the businesses going will be the two Minneapolis cocktail bars that were honored!
Spoon and Stable in Minneapolis Named One of the Best Bars in the World
One of the awards is for Best US Restaurant Bar in the central US. Among the 10 best is Spoon and Stable.
Spoon and Stable is in the North Loop and is actually in an old horse stable (hence the name). The building dates back to 1906.
Chef and owner Gavin Kaysen is from Minneapolis and is a James Beard Award winner. I've always heard great things about Spoon and Stable and I still haven't been yet!
Meteor in Minneapolis Named One of the Best Bars in the World
The other cocktail lounge actually got two awards, one for Best US Cocktail Bar in the central US and one for Best US Bar Team in the central US. Among the 10 best for each of those is Meteor.
Meteor definitely appears to be a more casual bar than Spoon and Stable, but man, do they get recognized a lot. Just last year, they were given an award of excellence from The Pinnacle, which rates tons of bars all around the world.
I can't find much information about them on their website but based on their Facebook page, it looks like they opened in 2019.
