When the Beautiful Fall Colors Will Peak Throughout Minnesota
With Labor Day in the review mirror, it's the unofficial start of fall! While I'm a big fan of summer, there's just something that I love about fall in Minnesota.
I love the cooler air that's just cool enough for a sweatshirt and leggings to be comfortable but I'm not needing a hat and gloves. The sound of crunching leaves, as cliche as it is, is one of my favorite sounds. And the changing colors of the leaves are always beautiful!

When Leaves Will Change Colors in Minnesota
I'm excited for the colors to start changing, and we should start to see peaks of color pretty soon in certain parts of the state.
Lucky for us, if you want to plan a little excursion for leaf peeping, there's an interactive map for us to use to plan the perfect time to go out and enjoy the fall colors.
Fall Foliage Predictions for Minnesota
The fall foliage prediction map I found is from Explore Fall.
Based on their predictions, the first little bit of fall colors will start coming in next Thursday, September 12th! But only at the tip of the state.
The color really starts to become more widespread in the following 1-2 weeks. The entire state should have at least a bit of color changes by September 25th. The tip of Minnesota, at that point, is starting to hit peak color already.
By October 7th, most of northern Minnesota and the Duluth area should be at peak fall colors.
Central Minnesota will see peak fall colors around October 14th.
Most of the rest of Minnesota, except for Minneapolis and St. Paul and a bit along the Mississippi, will hit peak colors around October 19th.
And by the end of October, about October 23rd, all of Minnesota should have been or will currently be at peak colors.
If you want to do some leaf peeping, there are some beautiful places you can stay around Minnesota to do just that. Below I'll have a list of some great places to stay in winter but they'd be just as amazing in the fall, too!
