Brooklyn Park, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in the Twin Cities are investigating what appears to be an accidental shooting involving two children.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Brooklyn Park Police Department. The shooting in a residential area shortly after 10:40 Monday night. 

The news release says dispatchers informed responding officers that one child had accidentally shot another child. Officers arrived at the scene and began rendering aid to the young gunshot victim.

The child suffered what are being described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The minor was transported to a hospital for further care. 

The names and ages of the apparent accidental shooter and the juvenile gunshot victim have not been released. The news release indicated officers spoke with all of the individuals who were at the scene.
