Minneapolis Man Sentenced For Murder of 12 Year Old
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for murdering a 12-year-old boy.
20-year-old Jeremiah Grady earlier entered into a plea agreement and admitted to a second-degree murder charge and a second-degree attempted murder charge stemming from the fatal shooting in September 2021. He was given credit for the 127 days for the time he has already served in jail.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim of the shooting, London Bean, was involved in a fight with Grady's younger brother outside the Grady family residence when a masked man dressed in black entered the front yard from behind the townhouse and pointed a gun at the group of people that had gathered at the property. The gunmen, later identified as Grady, then approached the 12-year-old victim and shot him two times before running away.
The court document also says investigators obtained evidence from social media that showed Grady holding a gun about an hour after the child's murder. Grady, who will be 38 years old before he will be eligible for release, has been ordered to pay $7500 in restitution.
