Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Minnesota BCA has issued a statewide alert for a missing college student.

The alert was issued early Sunday morning. The student attends the University of Minnesota. 

The alert identifies the student as 19-year-old Sumith Maddi. Authorities say he was last seen leaving the 17th Ave. Residence Hall in Minneapolis around 2:40 Saturday morning.

Maddi is described as Indian, six feet tall, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities say he was wearing a black puffy down jacket, black pants and white shoes.

The alert does not include the young man’s last known means of transport or direction of travel. 

Anyone who may have seen Maddi or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the University of Minnesota Police Department at 612-624-2677.
