Charges Filed in Rochester Hy-Vee Women’s Bathroom Filming Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office has filed charges in a case involving a man accused of filming a woman in the bathroom of a Rochester grocery store.
The case started in April of this year when Rochester Police responded to the crossroads Hy-Vee on the report of a woman catching a man filming her in the bathroom.
The woman told police she confronted the man and he fled the store into a nearby neighborhood. Police arrested the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Patrick John Gaffron of Rochester, three days after responding to the call.
The charges, filed in Olmsted County Court Friday, say officers identified Gaffron through store surveillance footage. Gaffron was formally charged with two counts of felony interfering with privacy with a previous conviction.
Court records indicate Gaffron was convicted of interfering with privacy in Winona County in 2016. He was accused in that case of filming a woman in the women's restroom at Winona Health in 2015.
Gaffron was sentenced to two years probation monitoring for the misdemeanor conviction in the Winona County case. His first appearance in Olmsted County Court is set for December.
