Man Accused of Filming Woman in Bathroom at Rochester Store
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department says officers arrested a man accused of filming a woman in the bathroom of a store.
Police Lt. Frank Ohm said officers responded to a business in the 500 block of Cross Roads Dr. in southwest Rochester Sunday morning. A woman reported seeing a man inside of a restroom filming her and said he took off when she confronted him.
Police say the suspect quickly left the store and fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood where officers and store employees lost sight of him. Investigators later identified the suspect as 37-year-old Patrick Gaffron of Rochester through store surveillance footage.
Police then found and arrested Gaffron Thursday in the 1200 block of 4th Ave. Southwest. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate he was jailed on suspicion of interfering with privacy with a previous conviction.
Court records indicate Gaffron was convicted of interfering with privacy in Winona County in 2016. He was accused in that case of filming a woman in the women's restroom at Winona Health in 2015.
He was sentenced to two years probation monitoring for the misdemeanor conviction. His first appearance in Olmsted County Court has not yet been scheduled.
