Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- Three teens suffered serious injuries in a head-on crash that happened in southern Minnesota over the weekend.

First responders were dispatched to the two-vehicle crash around 1:40 Saturday afternoon. The vehicles involved in the crash are pick-up trucks. 

A news release issued Monday morning by the Faribault Police Department says the crash occurred in the 1100 block of 9th Ave. Southwest. Calls received by dispatch indicated that multiple occupants were injured and one driver was trapped in his vehicle.

Five people, all teenagers, were injured in the crash. Police say the trapped driver, identified as 18-year-old Beau William Velishek, was extracted from the pick-up and airlifted from the scene with what was described as a serious injury.

Two passengers riding in the pick-up Beau was driving, identified as 17-year-old Genevieve Rose Donahue and 15-year-old Ajay Michael Still, also suffered serious injuries. Donahue was also airlifted to the Twin Cities for further care while Still was taken by ambulance to a Faribault hospital.

Faribault Police have identified the driver of the other pick-up as 17-year-old Riley Michael Velishek. He and a third passenger in the other pick-up, identified as 15-year-old Rideway Joe Wasilowski, suffered what are being described as minor injuries. 

The Minnesota State Patrol and Faribault Police Department are investigating the crash. 

Police say a charging decision has not yet been made, however preliminary information indicates impairment is not suspected to have been involved in the head-on collision.
