1 Killed, 1 Hurt in 4-Vehicle Crash on Minnesota Interstate
Albertville, MN (KROC-AM News)- One driver is dead and another was hospitalized following a four-vehicle crash on an interstate in Minnesota Wednesday.
The State Patrol responded to the fatal crash shortly after 3 p.m. It happened on I-94 in Albertville.
The state crash report indicates three westbound SUVs were traveling at a slow rate of speed in the left lane. A westbound sedan then approached the area and all four vehicles collided.
The driver of the car, identified as 43-year-old Benjamin Walter Wittrock of Sauk Rapids, lost his life in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was the lone occupant in the vehicle.
Wittrock was not buckled, the report says. One of the SUV drivers, identified as 73-year-old Kristine Marie Anderson of Minnetonka, suffered what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
She was treated at the scene. The two other SUV drivers and three passengers in one of the SUVs escaped the deadly crash without injuries.
It’s unknown if anyone involved in the crash was under the influence of alcohol. I-94 was described as dry at the time of the deadly collision.
