100+ Cats Seized During Minnesota Animal Welfare Investigation

Crosby, MN (KROC-AM News) - More than 100 cats were removed from a home in central Minnesota this week as part of an animal welfare investigation.

A news release issued by the Crosby Police Department says officers, assisted by members of the Minnesota Federative Humane Society, executed an administrative search warrant after receiving reports of "animal cruelty and neglect, animal hoarding, and unsafe living conditions." The raid occurred around 12:15 PM on Thursday at a home in the Brainerd Lakes area community.

The cats that were removed from the property were taken to the Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud. Crosby police say anyone in that area who is missing cats is urged to contact the organization.

Officials have not said if any criminal charges will be filed in the case.
