2 Young Children in Pickup Involved in Fatal Crash in Owatonna
Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol responded this morning to a fatal crash in Owatonna.
The preliminary crash report indicates snow and ice was present when the deadly incident occurred on northbound I-35 near the Cabela's Store exit around 7:40 AM. The State Patrol says a pickup went off the freeway and rolled in the ditch.
There were three people in the pickup and two of them were young children. The State Patrol has only said that a 25-year-old Owatonna man was driving the vehicle and his two passengers were a 4-year-old girl and an infant boy.
Information concerning the fatality and the extent of the injuries suffered by the occupants of the pickup have not been released.

As of 3 o'clock this afternoon, the State Patrol reported that it had responded to 122 crashes across Minnesota, including the fatal crash in Owatonna. 14 other crashes resulted in injuries and there were reports of 32 vehicles off the road and five semi-trucks that jackknifed.
