Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The 2017 Rochesterfest buttons are available for sale. Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede today followed tradition and was first in line to purchase one of the buttons that help pay for the annual community-wide festival. This year’s button was designed by Wes Duellman, who received a $500 award for his efforts. The buttons are sold for $5 dollars each and can be purchased at 35 locations, which include local retailers and nonprofit organizations. Those locations are listed at Rochesterfest.com.

In addition to the buttons, Rochesterfest organizers are selling a limited edition 35th anniversary poster that features all of the button designs from the past 35 years. The posters can be purchased for five dollars at all four Rochester Hy-Vee Food Store locations and at the Rochesterfest Info Booth at Soldiers Field Park during the event.

Rochesterfest will be held at Soldiers Field Park from June 17 through the 25th and the theme this year is “Rochesterfest: 35 Years of Summer Fun.”

Retiring Rochester City Administrator Stevan Kvenvold will serve as the Grand Marshal of the Rochesterfest Grand Parade, which has been moved to a new day and time this year. The popular procession of parade floats and bands will take place on Saturday, June 24th, starting at 2 PM using the same route that has been used the past couple years.
