2017 State Fair Sets New Attendance Record
Falcon Heights, MN (KROC-AM News) - Attendance at the Minnesota State Fair didn’t reach 2 million, but the 2017 event attracted the largest number of visitors in the history of the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
Fair officials say 1997,320 people went through the turnstiles during the 12-day run of the fair, which ended on Labor Day. The total was over 53,600 above the attendance at last year’s Minnesota State Fair, which held the previous record.
Three daily attendance records were set this year. Over 104,500 people visited the fairgrounds on August 28th, just over 187,000 went through the turnstiles on September 1st, and the attendance on Sunday was pegged at over 242,750 people. The attendance total on Labor Day was over 171,000.
Cooler, and mainly dry weather have been partially credited for the record draw.
The State Fair next year will run from August 23rd through September 3rd.
