Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The election filing period for local and state elected positions opens today.

In Rochester, candidates can file for four positions on the Rochester City Council, including the Council President position. 3 positions on the Rochester School Board are also up for election this year and those candidate filings will also be handled by the City Clerk's Office in person, electronically, or through the mail.

Four positions on the Olmsted County Board are up for election this year, along with every seat in the Minnesota House and both Rochester State Senate seats. The election ballot will also feature every seat in the US House of Representatives and one of Minnesota’s U.S. Senate seats.

The filing period will and June 2nd. If a primary election is needed to narrow the list of candidates it will be held on August 11th.
