Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Nearly two dozen charges were filed against a Rochester man today as a result of a search warrant that was executed at his home in January as part of a child pornography investigation.

The 22 felony charges against 26-year-old Akardy Pichurin include 10 counts of the Use of Minors in Sexual Performance/Pornographic Work, 10 counts of Possessing Child Pornography, and one count each of Dissemination of Child Pornography and the Solicitation of a Juvenile for a Criminal Act. Court records show he was arraigned on the charges in Olmsted County Court today and his conditional bail was set at $100,000.

A news release issued by Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem says the search of Pichurin's home in January led to the seizure and search of devices that contained a large number of child pornography images and videos that included conversations between Pichurin and children. Ostrem says investigators were able to identify one of the victims as a preteen girl from New York State.

Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem commented, “Rochester Police investigators have always shown great concern for victims, particularly children. In this case, investigators were tenacious using various clues to identify a victim out of state. We have been working closely with them during the investigation and are proud of the compassion they show for all victims.”

The news release also says Pichurin was previously charged with possession of child pornography in January. The conditions of his release from custody included that he would have no devices with Internet accessibility.
