23 Things Every Cool Kid in Minnesota Had Back in the 80s and 90s

You knew you were a cool kid in the midwest back in the 80s and 90's if you had permed hair that was up in a banana clip as you walked through the hallways in high school with your Z Cavaricci's rolled tight on your ankles.  Every kid in Minnesota knew that being cool meant all of those things.

Back then, our version of "cool" was a lot different than what teens do today.  Scroll through and go back in time a bit and see how many of the "cool" things were part of your everyday back "in the day".

Huge list of "Cool Stuff" that kids in the 80's and 90's were all about.

Everything from the 80's and 90's screams "Cool!". Ok, looking back at photos of kids in their bright neon shorts and Hypercolor shirts where their armpits were pitted out, that really doesn't look all that "cool" today but if you were a kid back then, we sure felt like we knew style. Go through the list and see how many of these items you had in your room or used back in the day.

What is Missing on the "Cool in the 80s and 90s" List?

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, I'm sure you were teasing your bangs as high as you possibly could.  I remember rolling and re-rolling my jeans to perfection every single day as well.  I mean, you didn't want them to start unrolling on your way to class.  That would have just been horrible!

I remember the banana clips were always frustrating for me too.  The puffiness of the bangs had to be just right, but I had a bigger issue.  My hair was just a tad bit too thick for one normal banana clip.  I always had to find clips that were a little more heavy duty so the clip would actually stay together and not just pop open in the middle of class.

What do you remember from the 80s and 90s that was considered "cool" back in the day?  If something is missing on the list, let me know over on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.  I'd love to see your memories in my inbox and walk down memory lane again.
