5 Children Were in 2 SUVs That Crashed on Highway 52 in Marion
Marion, MN (KROC-AM News) - Five young children were passengers in two vehicles involved in a crash Sunday afternoon near Rochester.
The State Patrol says a northbound SUV collided with a southbound SUV on Highway 52 at the intersection with 54th Street Southeast in Marion just after 3:30 PM. The names of the people involved in the collision have not been released, but the State Patrol says a 62-year-old Chatfield woman was behind the wheel of the northbound SUV and a 39-year-old woman from Preston was driving the southbound vehicle.
She had three passengers, a 5-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy, and a 9-year-old boy, who are all from Preston. There were four passengers in the other SUV. There were two adult women, ages 35 and 37, along with a 3-year-old boy and a 7-year-old boy. They are all from Chatfield.
The State Patrol described the incident as an injury crash, but it has not been disclosed yet how many people were transported to the hospital or how severely they were hurt.
