Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department is asking the public’s help in trying to locate a stolen - and very noticeable - pickup truck.

The owner called police around 9:00 PM Wednesday to report the theft of the vehicle from the 900 block of 16th Ave SE.

The man said he used his remote starter to start the truck and as he and a female friend were walking to the vehicle, they saw a man climb in. The two tried opening the doors but the thief drove off, knocking them to the ground.

A patrol officer spotted the truck a short while later at the Holiday store on 4th St SE. The driver took off when he saw the officer, who followed a short distance before breaking off the pursuit. The owner of the truck spotted it a few minutes later near Cub Foods but was advised not to chase it.

The vehicle is a jacked-up white 2017 Ford F-350 pickup with 37-inch tires and a rollbar. It’s valued at $60,000.
