A Farewell Tribute to Mayor Brede and His Assistant

A retirement celebration was held Wednesday evening at the Rochester Art Center for outgoing Mayor Ardell Brede and his longtime assistant, Donna Bussell.

The two have worked together since Brede took office 16 years ago.

Bussell - who worked for Olmsted County before taking the city job - had planned to retire in June but Brede talked her into waiting until the end of the year.

The event included recognition and comments from a handful of speakers and songs from young singers from Rochester Civic Theater and the local Bella Voce group.
