
Albert Lea Man Accused of Stabbing Nephew While Being Kicked Out of Apartment
Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News)- A southern Minnesota man has been charged following a stabbing reported in Albert Lea.

64-year-old Tommy Lee Walker is charged with one count each of second-degree assault, third-degree assault and misdemeanor domestic assault.
The criminal complaint says Albert Lea police responded to the report of a possible stabbing on Tuesday.

Albert Lea Man Facing Assault Charges For Stabbing
The alleged stabbing occurred in the area of 1030 Broadway Avenue S in Albert Lea. Responding officers were speaking with the person who reported the incident when an argument broke out between a nearby group of people.
Officers ordered the individuals to the ground and began interviewing them. Police also encountered the victim at the scene.
The court document says he was suffering from a puncture wound to his lower back. He identified Walker as his assailant and alleged the Albert Lea man stabbed him in the back as he was walking away from him.
Witness Speaks to Police
A witness told officers that Walker and the victim had been arguing because the victim was throwing Walker out of his apartment. The witness also reported seeing Walker holding an open knife but said he did not witness the stabbing, the complaint indicates.
Officers encountered Walker at the scene. The complaint says he had a blue folding pocket knife that he then threw away when officers asked if he had anything on him.
Walker, who the complaint says is the victim’s uncle, told police he’d been living with the victim for several months and that they had been involved in a physical altercation that involved the victim hitting him in the head.

Walker’s conditional bail was set at $10,000 following his first court appearance on Thursday. He’s due back in court next month.
