Alcohol Involved In Rochester Crash That Injured Four People
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A woman was arrested on suspicion of DWI Friday night after causing a traffic crash that injured four people in rural Rochester.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Schueller says a large SUV driven by the 48-year-old woman was southbound on N. Broadway around 10:00 pm when she made a left turn onto 48th St in front of a northbound car.
The car crashed into the SUV and the driver suffered a broken wrist, a possible concussion and other injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Schueller says there were four passengers in the car and three were also taken to the hospital to be checked out and treated. All of those in the car are 18-years-old. Four are from Rochester, the other is from Oronoco.
The woman driving the SUV - identified as Patricia Price of Rochester - and her 13-year-old son were not hurt. Schueller says Price showed signs of impairment and admitted to an officer that she had been drinking.
Schueller says she is facing possible charges of DWI, reckless and careless driving, and criminal vehicular operation. Charges are expected to be filed after blood test results are available.
