Alcohol Use Suspected in Crash That Injured Rochester Woman
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office suspects a Rochester woman of being under the influence of alcohol after she crashed her vehicle along Marion Rd. Monday night.
Lt. Lee Rossman said deputies responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash in the 3400 block of Marion Rd. Southeast around 8:30 p.m. The preliminary crash investigation indicates the Mercury SUV left the roadway, struck two mail boxes, went airborne after hitting a driveway, crashed into a power pole guidewire then came to rest on its side.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Kyle Swanson, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance with what were described as minor injuries. Deputies reported seeing a cut on her left arm.
Rossman said deputies suspected Swanson to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They took a blood sample from her at the hospital and have sent the sample to the BCA for further testing.
Rossman said potential charges are pending the results of the blood sample test.
