Andover Animal Rescue Raided in Minnesota Dead Dogs Investigation
Andover, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Anoka County Sheriff's Office today reported that a search warrant was executed today at a property in Andover in connection with the recent discovery of 8 dead dogs in Cottage Grove.
A news release indicates the Animal Humane Society of Minnesota joined Anoka County investigators in conducting the search and removed 22 dogs from the animal rescue facility, where it is suspected the 8 dogs died. Officials noted the investigation does not involve the buildings former occupant, which was an animal training facility.
The Cottage Grove Police Department previously indicated that the person who left the bodies of the dogs along a highway in the Twin Cities suburb had been identified. Acting on tips from the public, Cottage Grove officers went to a residence Tuesday evening and stated that the individual had confessed to disposing of the dogs but it did not appear that person had anything to do with their deaths.
No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed in the case.
