Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities have served a pair of arrest warrants that were filed against an Eyota man.

One of the warrants was tied an alleged gun sale that happened in March of 2022 and the other was a theft reported at a Rochester hotel earlier this Fall.

Authorities filed the arrest warrant in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday. Olmsted County Adult Detention center records indicate he was booked into jail Tuesday morning.

Arrest Warrant Accuses Eyota Felon of Selling Gun During Law Enforcement Controlled Buy

The complaint in the gun sale case says an informant bought a semi automatic pistol from 28-year-old Andrew Patrick Zavala during a controlled buy conducted by law enforcement.

The warrant charges Zavala with felony firearm possession. Court records indicate Zavala was convicted in a 2016 felony burglary case. 

Warrant: Eyota Man Caused Thousands of Dollars of Damage During Rochester Hotel Vending Machine Thefts

The other arrest warrant accuses Zavala of stealing from and damaging three vending machines during two separate trips to a hotel located at 1625 South Broadway Ave. in Rochester. 

Zavala is accused of breaking open a machine on September 27 and busting open two machines at the same hotel on October 5. 

The damage to the vending machines is estimated to be a combined total of more than $15,000, the warrant says.

Zavala is accused of stealing $248.50 in products and $208.75 in funds during the first alleged theft. The losses from the October incident at the hotel are not listed in the arrest warrant. 

The second warrant charges Zavala with felony property damage and misdemeanor theft.
