Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Maintenance crews will be out across Rochester and southeast Minnesota for annual bridge inspections starting this week.

City of Rochester officials say MnDOT crews will be inspecting four Zumbro River crossings. Motorists are advised to watch for snooper trucks on bridges during the inspections.

Officials are planning to examine the following bridges on Monday, April 3: 

  • 7th Street NE Bridge over Zumbro River
  • East Center St Bridge over Zumbro River
  • 3rd Avenue SE Bridge over Zumbro River
  • Elton Hills Drive NE Bridge over Zumbro River

A news release says there will be vehicle lane closures and traffic shifts in place during the inspections. Sidewalks and bike lanes will be closed during the inspections. City officials say the work should be done by the end of the day Monday, depending on the findings of the inspections. 

MnDOT’s Southeast Minnesota District is also set to begin their annual bridge inspections on Monday. Crews will inspect over 1,100 bridges across is 11-county southeast Minnesota district.
