Another Rochester Retailer Is Closing Its Doors
"Everything Must Go" signs are now in the windows at a popular store in Rochester, Minnesota. Sadly, it appears that there are just a few weeks left of shopping at the Kirkland's store in the Med City.

Store Closing Signs Now Up At Kirkland's in Rochester, Minnesota
If you love adding extra throw pillows or decorative pieces for your home, you may want to make a quick trip to a store in Rochester. Just a few months ago, I wrote about the At Home store in Rochester when it shuttered for good. Not, it appears that another popular decor spot down the street is also saying goodbye to its customers.
Next time you drive by Ulta and Marshall's, you'll notice a few extra signs in the windows or a store nearby. Sadly, Kirkland's, located at 2232 Third Ave. SE in the Golden Hills Retail Center now has "Store Closing" and "Everything Must Go" signs in the windows.
Why Is Kirkland's Closing in Rochester?
The Kirkland's store in the Golden Hills area had its first sale in the Med City in 2019. That wasn't the first time this brand operated here, though.
If you were in the area between 2005 and 2012, you may remember the Kirkland's store in the strip mall near TerraLoco. It sat in the spot where Lasker Diamonds is currently located.
News broke last fall that about 300 Kirkland's locations would be turning into a Bed Bath & Beyond store. The hope was that this Rochester location would be one of those.
Long story short, that plan has since changed. According to Business of Home, Bed Bath & Beyond, who bought the parent company of Kirkland's, started closing stores that don't fit their vision. Unfortunately, Rochester is on that list.
The information that was shared in that story, which was written in January, is that less than half of the 300 stores will be turning into Bed Bath & Beyond stores. Stores that didn't have at least 10,000 square feet will either continue to operate as Kirkland's or will be closing for good.
When Is Kirkland's Closing In Rochester?
I did reach out to the corporate office for Kirkland's to get clarification on a closing date and to verify that Bed Bath & Beyond is not moving into this location. As of writing this story, I have not heard back from them.
Based on comments I've seen on social media, it appears that April 13th is the planned closing date for the Rochester location.
