Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Law enforcement agencies and tow truck operators were busy Tuesday night and Wednesday morning responding to traffic wrecks and mishaps around southeast Minnesota.

Snowfall totals across the region range from 1 - 3 inches. The Rochester airport recorded 2.6 inches through midnight and the National Weather Service says that was a record for March 24. It also raised the city’s season total to 48.8 inches, nearly 2 inches above normal.

The snow and rain that fell created slick driving conditions in many areas. Some school districts opened late Wednesday due to the poor road conditions.

Dry and cool weather is expected through the weekend. Warmer temps are expected next Tuesday and Wednesday before it turns cool again.
