Warriors whip Cavs, knot series

CLEVELAND (AP) — The NBA Finals are now a best-of-3.

The series is tied at two games apiece following the Warriors' 103-82 win over the Cavaliers at Cleveland. Andre Iguodala and Stephen Curry each scored 22 points as Golden State avoided its first three-game losing streak of the entire season.

The Warriors hit 12 3-pointers, with Curry going 4-for-7 and Iguodala 4-for-9. Iguodala was inserted into the starting lineup in place of Andrew Bogut.

Draymond Green had his best game of the series, finishing with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists after being listed as questionable for the game because of back spasms. Harrison Barnes chipped in 14 points and eight boards for the Warriors, who host Game 5 on Sunday.

The Warriors enjoyed a 12-point halftime lead before the Cavaliers cut the margin to 73-70 by the final minute of the third quarter. Curry drained a 3-pointer in the waning moments of the third period, igniting a 9-0 run that gave Golden State a comfortable 12-point advantage. The Warriors led by double-digits the rest of the way.

It was a rough night for LeBron James, who finished two assists shy of a triple-double for the second straight game but shot 7-of-22 and suffered a cut on his head late in the second quarter. James was scoreless in the fourth quarter and finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cavaliers couldn't overcome miserable shooting by Matthew Dellavedova, J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert, who combined to score just 19 points on 7-of-35 shooting.

Timofey Mozgov had a game-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Cleveland.

The Braves had a 4-1 lead in the eighth until the Padres tied it on a passed ball, a bases-loaded walk and catcher's interference. UNDATED (AP) — Reds shortstop Zack Cozart has a torn tendon and two torn ligaments in his right knee and will need reconstructive surgery. The expected rehabilitation is nine months.

Cozart hurt the knee when he slipped on first base while trying to beat out a grounder during a win over Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Cozart is among the NL's top shortstops in numerous offensive categories, with nine homers and 28 RBIs.

Lions ink top pick

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have signed first-round pick Laken Tomlinson to a four-year package that includes a team option and is worth about $8.3 million. The 323-pound guard from Duke was the 28th overall pick and is expected to bolster an offensive line that was a weak spot for the Lions last season. Detroit allowed 45 sacks in 2014, 22 more than the previous season.

Coyotes ready to fight lease issue

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes are mapping out their response to the Glendale City Council's decision to dissolve an arena lease agreement with the team.

The strategy will include a variety of legal maneuvers, but no immediate plans to relocate the team and certainly no renegotiation of the existing agreement. A lease statute allows an entity to cancel a contract if a person who worked on the deal later represents the other party, which councilmembers say happened when former city attorney Craig Tindall began working for the Coyotes as general counsel in 2013.

SOCCER-FIFA INVESTIGATION

Calls for Blatter to immediately leave

STRASBOURG, France (AP) — European lawmakers have urged FIFA President Sepp Blatter to step down immediately, and for an interim leader to be appointed.

Members of the European Parliament passed their resolution by a show of hands after debating the corruption allegations which have plunged soccer's governing body into crisis.

Blatter announced his resignation plans last week and promised an election to replace him would be held within nine months. FIFA says that date will be decided at a July 20 meeting in Zurich.

Meanwhile, FIFA says director of public affairs Walter De Gregorio is leaving his job. He's closely tied to Blatter.

FIFA says De Gregorio is stepping down immediately, but will stay on as consultant until the end of the year.
