Shakopee, MN (KROC-AM News)- A woman is in custody in connection with a recent Minnesota death investigation.
That’s according to a news release issued Tuesday morning by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. The deceased is described as a 45-year-old Minnesota man.
The case began as a welfare check on Monday night. Deputies responded to a residence in the City of Credit River, which is a small town about 8 miles south of Prior Lake, shortly before 10:30 p.m. and found a dead 45-year-old man inside of a home in the 6,000 block of Century Ln.
The preliminary investigation led to the arrest of 45-year-old Jennifer Lynn Lieber of Credit River. She was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Scott County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
The name of the apparent victim and details regarding his death are not yet available.
“This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen. “This investigation is ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time. Questions about this incident will likely be addressed in the County Attorney’s charging documents, if and when they are filed.”
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota BCA and Hennepin County Medical Examiner are continuing the death investigation, the news release says.
