Undated (KROC-AM News) - It was another deadly weekend on Minnesota roadways.

There have been at least 5 traffic deaths reported in the state since Friday when a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the west side of the Twin Cities. The Corcoran Police Department reported the driver of a motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene after another motorist came upon the crash along a rural road late Friday afternoon.

A passenger on a motorcycle was killed Saturday in a crash in Lac qui Parle County, where the State Patrol is indicating alcohol may have been a factor. The victim was identified as 72-year-old Linda Handstrom of Madison. She died when 66-year-old Steven Dunkley of Madison apparently lost control and crashed the motorcycle he was driving on a highway just south of Appleton Saturday afternoon.

The State Patrol is also investigating the death of a 25-year-old Brooklyn Park woman in a single-vehicle crash near Brainerd Saturday evening. The crash report says Marissa Lilly was alone in her car when it left Highway 71 and smashed into a tree.

The other traffic deaths occurred late Sunday morning in Renville County. The Sheriff’s Department says the driver of an SUV went through a stop sign and collided with a car at a rural intersection about 8 north of Redwood Falls. The drivers of both vehicles were killed and officials say a passenger in the car suffered critical injuries. Three other passengers in the same vehicle were also taken to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The names of the victims have not been released.
