Authorities ID Teenage Bicyclist Killed in a Crash
Alexandria, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in western Minnesota say the two bicyclists hit by an SUV in a deadly crash Tuesday night were teenage boys.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 14-year-old Blake Nohre of a Miltona was pronounced dead at the scene. The other teenager, also 14 years old, was identified as Nick Lampertson of Alexandria. He was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center. Information about his medical condition is not available. A third teenage bicyclist was with the victims but was not hit by the vehicle.
The SUV was driven by a 24-year-old man from Parkers Prairie and struck the bicyclists as they were arriving on a rural road in the Alexandria area around 10 PM Tuesday. Officials say he remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
